Explore Behind

We’re building one place to support your team and run the day.

What Behind is

One platform. Two connected experiences

Benefits for the people on your team. Tools for the people leading it. Connected in Behind, with private support kept separate

For your team

Support beyond the shift

Care, everyday savings, and financial resources, designed for hospitality workers, including part-time teams and variable hours.

For operators

A Leadership Tool

See what changed, find approved answers, and assign the next step without digging through documents and group chats.

Support your people. Stay on top of the work

Why now

Different work. Different benefit needs

Part-time work, limited coverage, and tight margins make traditional benefits a difficult fit. Behind starts with those realities

48.2%
of accommodation and food-services workers are part-time.

Statistics Canada, Labour Force Survey, sector data cited in Behind’s Industry Thesis.

≈20%
estimated workplace medical or dental coverage in the sector.

≈2.5%

Shared administration and provider relationships could make support more practical for independent restaurants. That’s the model we’re developing.

For your team

More support. On and off shift

Four areas of support, designed around hospitality work. Services, eligibility, and pricing will be confirmed with providers before launch

  2. A clay figure of a hospitality worker waiting at a streetcar stop outside a restaurant in daylight, with a gym bag at their feet.

Long-term goal

Change restaurants. Keep your support

We’re working toward benefits that follow workers between participating restaurants. Portability is not yet available and depends on carrier agreements and eligibility.

For operators

Better together

One place for the whole team

Managers start with the day’s priorities. Staff come for care, resources, and everyday value. Both use Behind, with separate access to personal services

Clearer communication at work. Practical support beyond it

Planned onboarding. Shaped with founding restaurants

Trust by design

Personal support stays personal

Our design separates restaurant operations from personal services. Here’s what that means for your team and your managers

  1. Clear separation

Managers need operational and employment information. Our design keeps personal health, counselling, and financial activity within the worker and provider experience.

  2. Licensed partners

Regulated products will come from licensed providers. Behind is not an insurer, healthcare provider, or investment adviser.

  3. You stay in control

Behind prepares information and proposes actions. Owners and managers review, approve, and remain responsible for decisions.

  4. Provider names, coverage, eligibility, and prices will be published after agreements are finalized.

Permitted connections. Personal services stay between the worker and provider. The manager has no line to it.

Questions

Good questions. Straight answers

Not yet. We’re developing Behind with an initial focus on Ontario restaurants. Register your interest to help shape the first release.

We’re developing care, everyday perks, financial resources, and extended health options. Final services, eligibility, and pricing depend on provider agreements and will be published when confirmed.

No. Behind is designed to work alongside existing systems, using approved information for Briefs, answers, and follow-ups. Integrations will be introduced over time.

Our design keeps personal health, counselling, and financial activity separate from management tools. Managers would access operational and employment information, not employees’ private use of personal services.

No. Regulated insurance, healthcare, and investment products will come from appropriately licensed third parties. Behind connects workers to those providers.

That’s the long-term goal, not an available feature. It depends on carrier agreements, eligibility rules, and enough participating restaurants to make portability work.

Managers need tools they use daily. Staff need support beyond work. Bringing both into Behind gives restaurants and workers a practical reason to participate.
